Mark Radford

Mark Thomas Radford, 88, of Candler was taken to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 5, 2023, with his beloved family by his side at Care Partners Solace Center.  A native of Haywood County, Mark was the son of the late Harley and Thelma Smiley Radford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Radford, brothers, Frank Leon Radford and his wife, Jean and James Harley Radford and sisters, Alice Radford, Bobby Jean Henry and her husband, Tom.

A veteran of the US Navy, Mark served during the Korean conflict and retired from Du-Pont.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Rene’ Radford and her best friend, Tamra Dawsey; one nephew and three nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Care Partners Hospice, 68 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803 or Emerald Ridge, 25 Reynolds Mtn. Road, Asheville, NC 28804.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Bryan Myers officiating.

The family would like to send a heart felt thank you to all the staff at Care Partners Solace Center and Emerald Ridge Nursing Home for the care of their father.

The care of Mr. Radford has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
