Marilyn Barker Jones

Canton – Marilyn Barker Jones, 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her residence.

Marilyn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and had lived in Cruso since 1976.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marie Folmer Weil, husband, William Ashleigh Barker, Sr., and one grandson, Barker Bostian.  Marilyn was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and she enjoyed her family, friends, knitting, crocheting, and sewing.

She is survived by six children, Beth Huddleston of Granite Quarry, Alma Wells of Waynesville, Nancy Farley of Canton, William Barker, Jr. of Lake Junaluska, Robert Barker of Fletcher and Carol Bostian of Nebo; grandchildren, William Cagle, Zachary Huddleston, Ashleigh Wells Medda, Karley Wells, Austin and Sidney Farley, Kennedy Barker, Maggie Bostian, Weil and Hannah Barker; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Huddleston, Kevin Wells, Brian Farley, Jill Barker and Michelle Barker; granddaughter-in-law, Rheanna Cagle; and grandson-in-law, Suman Medda.

A private memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Canton, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 581 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC  28731.
