Margie Noland

October 3, 1927 — January 3, 2012

Waynesville, Margie Liner Noland, age 84, of Hodges Drive, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Mountain Trace Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Lucius and Mary Walker Liner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Townsend Noland and two brothers, Thomas and L.B. Liner. Margie retired as Director of Nursing at Haywood County Health Department after 30 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, where she was active in the children's ministry, in her circle group, and was also a member of the Asbury Wesley Sunday-School Class. Margie was a founding member of Haywood Christian Ministry and was a volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Mobile, Alzheimer's Society, American Cancer Society, and Easter Seals. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, J. Hardy Noland; a daughter, Mary Ann Edwards (Terry) and one son, Mark Thomas Noland (Gail) all of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Melissa Everett (James), Anne Bleakley (Charles), Michael Noland, Megan Noland, and Joseph Edwards (Allbre); and two great grandsons, Jase Bleakley and Eli Everett. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Sanford L. Giles, Jr. and Reverend George Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Noland, Joseph Edwards, James Everett, Delbert Medford, Mike Shook and Kenny Wyatt. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
