Fines Creek Community, Margaret Juanita Williams Perkins, age 84, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Autumn Care of Waynesville.
A native of Wake County, she was a daughter of the late Ronnie and Zellie Sarvis Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith McGlashing; and a brother, Bob Williams. Juanita received a Bachelor of Science with a degree in Nursing. She was a soldier of the Salvation Army holding the position of Community Care Ministry Secretary for 20 years and was the League of Mercy Secretary. She volunteered with Mountain Projects and was a loving foster mother at Father Flannigan and Boys Town of America. Juanita loved singing, reading and dancing and was a devout Christian and loved God.
Juanita is survived by her husband of 34 years, Alfred Perkins; two daughters, Cindy Perkins and Melyssa Perkins; five sons, Raymond, Tim, Mike and Jim Broderick, and Nicholas Perkins; sister, Kathy Harris; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rachel, Olivia, Bobby, Michael, Bradley, Jimmy, Sherry, Oliver and Ophelia; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Salvation Army at Shelton Laurel with Major Graf officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, Shelton Laurel, 35 Mountain Mission Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
The care of Mrs. Perkins has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
