Margaret Mooney

Clyde - Margaret Haynes Mooney, age 99, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was born in Hazelwood and was the daughter of the late Jeffery and Dicey Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Galveston Haynes, who died 1941; her second husband, Manfred C. Mooney, who died in 1985; three brothers, George, Charlie, and Grady Davis; and her beloved grandson, Kevin Louis McDaniel, who died in 2010. Margaret retired from American Enka Corporation after 35 years of service and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by a daughter, Faye H. McDaniel Weathers, of Easley, South Carolina; a son, Forest Haynes and his wife, Becky, of Samson, Alabama; one granddaughter, Sherry Smoot and her husband, Jeff, of Virginia; a great-grandson, Jesse Smoot of Virginia; and specials friends, Penny Caldwell and Cissie and Terry Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Gary Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
