Waynesville – Margaret Pressley Marler, 73, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at her residence.
Margaret was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Jack and Lillian Rogers Pressley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Rollins, who died in 2021; two brothers, Arnold and Paul Pressley; and a daughter-in-law, Ronette Rollins. Margaret was a member of Center Pigeon Baptist Church. She was known to her family as “Granny” and a Mom to all.
She is survived by her husband, David Richard Marler; one daughter, Tina Rollins of Waynesville; a daughter-in-law, Alecia Rollins of Clyde; two sons, Reverend Scotty Rollins (Lori) of Clyde and Dewayne Rollins of Waynesville; one sister, Mauriel Ledford of Weaverville; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Allen Blanton and Reverend Ray Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
