Margaret Hall

Waynesville-Margaret Gertrude Underwood Hall, age 82, of the Ratcliffe Cove community died Friday, February 1, 2008 at Mountain Trace Nursing Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Rufus and Myrtle Ratcliff Underwood. She was also preceded in death by and infant son, Joey; three brothers, Hugh, Claude and Paul Underwood and a sister, Sara Kuykendall. Margaret was employed by Wellco Corporation for 25 years and was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. She had a special place in her heart for United States veterans and enjoyed talking on the phone, keeping in touch with her friends and family and always had a home for stray cats. She is survived by two daughters, Rose Cole and her husband, Harold, of Sylva and Kathy Holford and her husband, Richard, of Greenville, SC; two sons, Bob Harrison and his wife, Linda, of Franklin and Doug Mitchell and his wife, Patsy, of Waynesville; four grandchildren, Brian Mitchell, Angie Miller, Adrianne Jameson and Robert Harrison; a special niece, Gladys Swanger and her husband, Bud, of Charlotte. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery with Reverend Mike Shuford officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 486 Marshall Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
