Maggie Valley, Margaret Ann Rich Franklin, 71, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Albert and Ina Mae Sutton Rich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy M. Franklin, who died in 1995, a son, Bobby D. Franklin; and son-in-law, Roger Rivers. Margaret was of Baptist faith and attended Old Pathway Baptist Church. Margaret will be remembered for her selfless spirit, kind heart and amazing love for her family.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Cindy Ann Rivers, of Clyde; a brother, James Rich (Robin) of the Jonathon Creek Community; two sisters, Rebecca Green (Jerry) of Maggie Valley and Carolyn Crawford (Ralph) of Bryson City; one grandson, James Anderson Queen of Clyde; her special friend, Richard Jenkins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
