Margaret Culver

Waynesville

Waynesville, Margaret Brockinton Culver, 92, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Mission Hospital’s Memorial Campus.

A native of Kingstree, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Irene Epps Brockinton.  She was also preceded in death by a brother.  Margaret was a school teacher at several public and private schools throughout the east coast and southern United States. Margaret enjoyed traveling and birding with her husband, William.  She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church of Asheville and the proud wife of a United States Navy veteran.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William E. Culver; a son, William E. Culver, Jr. and his wife, Juli, of Louisville, Colorado; a sister, Frances Godwin of Swansboro; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Scott; a special nephew, Steve Eikenberg and wife, Michelle, of Coppersville, Texas; and several other nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews University, 1700 Dogwood Mile, Laurinburg, NC  28352.
