Canton, Macel Phillips Gaddis, age 87, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Tempelton and Fronie Messer Phillips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Arlo Gaddis who died in 2000; a son, Wayne Gaddis; three sisters; and two brothers. Macel was a member of Cove Creek Baptist Church, she enjoyed her flower gardens, working puzzles and sitting on the porch.
Macel is survived by a daughter, Brenda Gaddis; two sons, Sam Gaddis (Romaine) and Timothy Gaddis; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
The care of Mrs. Gaddis has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
