Lynn Overman, Sr.

Clyde – Lynn Martin Overman, Sr., 75, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was a native of Fall River, Massachusetts and the son of the late Walter and Jacqulyn Dubee Overman. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Davis. Lynn was a United States Navy veteran serving in Vietnam from 1964 – 1968 and was a member of American Legion Post 47.

He is survived by a son, Lynn Overman, Jr., (Deborah); a daughter, Lorie Ann Ray (Dean); and two grandchildren, Tiffany Cogdill and Anthony Hickman.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Grace Church in the Mountains in Waynesville with the Reverend Joslyn Ogden Schaefer officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.  Inurnment will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.

The care of Mr. Overman has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
