Lydia Victoria Pinto

Lydia Victoria Lawson Pinto, 79, of Waynesville, passed away on November 05, 2025. A native of Salem, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Gordon Lawson and Sarah Mae Lacey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sara Buckalew Mull, grandson, Darren Buckalew and seven siblings.

Lydia was a spitfire. She taught her children to be strong, to not back down, and to know that they were loved. As a single mom and homemaker, she worked hard to make sure her children had the best of things. Taking care of her grandkids, family, and friends was second nature to her and something that they will always treasure.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicky (Rick) Buckalew Worley; sons, James and Joseph (Mary) Buckalew; brother, Raymond Lawson; sister Freda Lawson; grandchildren, Richard James Buckalew, James George Buckalew, Elizabeth Rhodes, Lillian Lanning, Joseph Buckalew, Ricky Worley, Anthony Worley, and Samuel Akrem and great grandchildren, Benjamin Dean Buckalew, Forest Hunter Lanning, Jesse James Buckalew, and Alexander Cole Rhodes.
