Waynesville – Lula Brock Ruff, 76, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Leah was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late James Carroll Brock, Sr. and Sybil Tabor Brock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Brock. Leah worked at Hazelwood Presbyterian Church as a custodian. She loved word puzzles, reading, cross stitching, and working with her hands. She was well known for “her homemade fudge” and a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Hank Ruff; one daughter, Susan Ruff of Canton; two sons, Thomas C. Ruff (Jennifer) of Goose Creek, South Carolina and James Ruff (Carolynn) of Summerville, South Carolina; a sister, Wanda Ammons of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Cameron Ruff; many nieces and nephews; and a dear family friend, Dolly Roberts.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Patrick Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
