Lucille Rogers

Lucille Rogers, born on January 13, 1926 in Haywood County, North Carolina passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at The Lodge at Mills River Health and Rehab. Lucille was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherished by her family and friends for her vibrant spirit and warmth.

Throughout her life, Lucille exemplified a deep love for God, nature and community. She found joy in nurturing her garden, often remarking on how she loved to grow flowers and indulge in leisurely moments of "porch-sitting," allowing her to appreciate the beauty around her. Lucille was an active member of her church, West Asheville Baptist Church. She was known for her commitment to the Bible Study Fellowship group.

A notable aspect of Lucille's life was her passion for collecting dishware, particularly her treasured teapots. Each piece held a story and a memory, mirroring her rich life filled with meaning and connection.

Lucille is survived by her devoted daughter, Deanna Bellomy (Darrell), along with her grandchildren, Timothy Redman (Amanda) and Michael Redman (Karri). She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren; Grady, Leo, Cora, Luca, and Wells Redman; each of whom she cherished deeply and who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.

In remembering Lucille, special acknowledgment must be made of her long-term caregiver, Kim Maney, whose support and compassion were beyond compare in her later years.

Lucille will be warmly remembered and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A visitation will be held in her honor on September 6, 2025, at the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler, NC, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon with Revered Gary Ball officiating. Burial will then follow the services at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. 

The care of Lucille Rogers has been entrusted by the family to Wells’s funeral home of Candler.
