Lucile Shumolis

Canton- Lucile Henderson Shumolis, age 88, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Nun and Lucy Hoots Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Shumolis, who passed in 1998; a son, Wayne Relis Shumolis, who died in 2014; and a brother, Cecil Henderson. Lucile was employed with Southwestern Child Development and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canton. She is survived by one son, Stan Shumolis of Canton; three grandchildren, Tracy Russell and her husband, Brian, Marc Shumolis and his wife, Leigh Ann, and Anna Conn and her husband, Taylor; and four great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Clayton Russell, and Sydney and Nathan Shumolis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to give a special thanks to the CNA's and staff at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
