Lucas Crawford

Waynesville, Lucas Anthony Crawford, age 34, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Stephen Lee and Phyllis Noland Crawford. At the time of his death he lived in Asheville and was a student at AB Technical College. Lucas had a love of life and a bright smile that will be missed by everyone who ever knew him. He enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar, fly fishing, horseback riding and spending time in the outdoors. Lucas was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Iron Duff. Lucas was preceded in death by an infant son, Jaxson Lee Crawford; maternal grandfather, Robert T. Noland; paternal grandparents, Frances and Rack Crawford; and his aunt Shirley Mull. Lucas is survived by his loving and dedicated parents, Phyllis and Steve Crawford; brother, Nick Crawford; son, Braxton Crawford; daughter Trinity Crawford, all of Waynesville; special cousins, Steven Mull and Cheyenne Wright; and other uncles, aunts, and cousins. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church cemetery with Reverend Todd West officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Trinity and Braxton's college education, c/o Champion Credit Union, 311 Walnut Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
