Louise Summers

Waynesville, Louise Summers, 79, passed away unexpectedly but very peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina with her son Craig at her bedside.  Her family and friends are grateful for the extraordinary care she received from the ER and Cardiac Care staff at Mission Hospital.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, she enjoyed quilting and gardening in the flower beds both outside her home and within the lives of her family and friends.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Craig; brother, Charles, daughter-in-law, Faith, and three grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, and Emily.  She lives now in God’s care with her parents, Ted and Daisy; her sister, Marion; her husband, George; and her son, Clifton.

A memorial graveside service will be held in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 1:00 p. m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens on Hwy 11.  A memorial celebration will also be held at Wells Event Center in Waynesville, NC at a later date to be announced.

Memorial donations may be made to local missions of First Presbyterian Church, 305 N Main St., Waynesville, NC 28786.

The care of Mrs. Summers has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
