Lola Millsaps

Canton – Lola Loumanda Edwards Millsaps, 90, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

Lola was a native of Graham County and a daughter of the late William Isaac and Lottie Mae Duckett Edwards.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bright “Jim” Millsaps and a son, Richard Millsaps.  Lola was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and her interests include her love for the outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening and especially music.

She is survived by a daughter, Annette Millsaps Stiles and husband, Tim, of Canton; one son, James David Millsaps and wife, Margaret, of Canton; a daughter-in-law, Jane Millsaps of Robbinsville; four grandchildren, Caroline Stiles Riddle, Shawn, Shane and Jess Millsaps; and two great-grandchildren.

Due to the COVID-19 exposure and for the safety of everyone, a private family graveside service will be held at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Silver Bluff Nursing Home Activity Department, 100 Silver Bluff Drive, Canton, NC  28716 or Bethel Baptist Church, 5868 Pigeon Road, Canton, NC  28716.
