Lois Allison Carter, 88, of Candler went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at her residence. A native of Henderson County, NC, she was daughter of the late Nobel Frank and Esther Nellie Morgan Allison. She was preceded in death by all seven of her siblings, Reba Cartee, Clyde Allison, Mildred Clark, Marvin Allison, Mary Noble Allen, Roy Allison and Bill Allison.

Lois worked in the clerical office of the Spinnerette Department at American Enka Corporation for over 31 years. She was a member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church in Etowah.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Howard T. Carter; daughter, Teresa Carter Hughey and her husband, Douglas of Candler and granddaughter, Lauren Howe and her husband, Ryan of Candler.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p. m on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Wells Chapel of Faith, 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler, NC.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  Reverend Bob Lowman will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

The care of Ms. Carter has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
