Linwood Cordray

Waynesville, Linwood Verne Cordray, 64, resident of Duluth, Georgia and formerly of Waynesville, passed away on October 22, 2016 at Emory Johns Creek, Georgia. He was diagnosed only days earlier with metastatic renal cell carcinoma. Linwood, also known as "Buzz", was the son of the late Henry and Gentry Cordray of Charleston, South Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cathy; son, Kevin Cordray of Duluth, Georgia; daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Dylan Harbin; and daughter Kimberly Cordray of Portland, Oregon; 6 grandchildren; Scott, Jack, Zoe and Rhys Harbin and Fox and Vera Cordray; and in-laws Ned and Willie Jean Jones of Waynesville, NC. He served 20 years in the USAF and graduated summa-cum-laude from Georgia Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina with a degree in accounting. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at Greenhill Cemetery in Waynesville on December 23 at 2:00 p.m.
