Linda Hurley

Waynesville, Linda Hall Hurley, age 77, surrounded by loving family, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Haywood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A resident of Haywood County for 40+ years, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Mary Barrineau Hall.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Hall.

Linda enjoyed working with the public and helping her community working as a longtime Office Manager at State Farm Insurance.  A proud member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, she enjoyed the tiny adventures of everyday life – sitting on her porch swing, hanging new flower baskets to welcome spring, and spending time with her family.  Many special memories were made having picnics on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Linda is survived by her two dear children, daughter, Melanie Cantrell, and her husband, Greg, and son, Jason Hurley, and his wife, Maria, of Wake Forest; sister, Marie Blasczyk; three grandchildren, Holly Cantrell, Patrick Hurley, and Meredith Hurley, and niece, Stephanie Lanier.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022, in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Bevill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

The care of Mrs. Hurley has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
