Canton- Lillie Shytles McIntyre- 91, of 106 Crazy Creek Lane, died Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center.
She was a native of Swain County and had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was a daughter of the late Lum and Harriett Corn Shytles and was the wife of the late Eston H. McIntyre who died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys McIntyre Clark and a son Vaughn Richard McIntyre. She was the oldest active member of Rocky Face Baptist Church where she was one of it's founders.
She is survived by one son, Howard C. McIntyre of Canton, 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2002 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Donnie Henson and Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at her granddaughter's residence, Phyllis Burrell, 106 Crazy Creek Lane, Canton, NC 28716.
