Lexie Kirkland

Candler, Lexie Jane Smith Kirkland, 92, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, May 18, 2017 after a long illness. Our beautiful mother is now with her family in heaven. She was the daughter of the late George and Hettie Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Kirkland; daughter, Emila Frances Kirkland Patton; Siblings, Flonnie Peeler, Alma Pilkington, Gloria Campbell, Doris Herrin and Don Smith. We were so blessed to have a loving and kind mother. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Meritha Corzine (Doug) of Candler, Merceldth Bell (Joe) of Canton, and Eloine Kirkland of Candler; grandchildren, Scott Jackson, Wes Bell (Karole) and Lindsey Robinson (Maurice); great-grand children, Holly Jackson and Collin Robinson. After retiring, Lexie loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and music. The family would like to recognize caregivers that provided Lexie with excellent care and kindness to her and her family: Dr. John Langlois, Nan Needs, Nick Domanski, Kathy Morris, Jenny Martin and Amy Messer.
