Leila Lynch

Maggie Valley, Leila Isabelle Mocker Lynch, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her home.

A native of New York, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Leila Brown Mocker. She was also preceded in death by her dear husband of 75 years, Major Arthur C. Lynch who died in 2020 and their son, James Arthur Lynch.

Isabelle’s childhood dream realized was becoming a Registered Nurse.  She graduated from Millard Fillmore Hospital Class of 1946 and excelled as an RN in hospital settings and private practice.  One of the esteemed physicians she worked with said that she should have been a doctor herself.  Isabelle and Arthur loved to travel and his military assignments offered them the opportunity to visit all the countries in Europe.  Upon Arthur’s retirement, they extensively traveled the United States making memories to last a lifetime.

Isabelle is survived by her son, David C. Lynch, of Fleming Island, Florida; three grandchildren, James (Kristina) Lynch, Jonathan (Nicole) Lynch, and Jennifer (David) Biery; and seven great-grandchildren, Rowan, Teagan, and Kellan Lynch, Camryn and Raegyn Lynch, and David and Jacob Biery.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend Zachary Misch officiating.
