Lawson Messer

Waynesville-Lawson Brown Messer, age 100, died Friday, September 19, 2003 at Mattie C. Hall Health Center, in Aiken, SC.

He was a native of Haywood County and was the son of the late Thomas Patton and Lura Snelson Messer. He lived most of his life in Waynesville. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Barberville Baptist Church. He had lived in Aiken, SC since 1989.

He is survived by his nephew, Boyce Brock of New Ellenton, SC and by a niece, Lillian Messer Church of Valdese, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. The Reverend G. W. Jameson will officiate. Burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the funeral home.
