Larry Dean Reece

Larry Dean Reece, 76, of Candler passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at his residence following a period of declining health. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Chester Jefferson and Nina Fisher Reece. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Jane Reeves Reece in 2020 and a brother, Bruce Reece.

Larry proudly served in the US Army.

He is survived by his sisters, Elaine Young and her husband, Don and Martha Hanrahan; brother, C. J. Reece and his wife, Patti and many nieces and nephews.  Also left to treasure Larry’s memory is his niece, Anita Murray, whom they raised after her mother’s death, along with Anita’s children, Josh and Amie Hensley.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler with Reverend John Honeycutt officiating.  The family will receive friends, prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Wells Chapel of Faith in Candler.

The family of Mr. Reece would like to give special thanks to Gina Fowler, Don Reeves and Rita for taking such great care of Larry during his illness.
