Waynesville, Larry Forrest Douglas, 72, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Larry was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, the son of the late John F. and Martha Allan Dickerson Douglas. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Douglas. He was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church of Waynesville. Larry was a member of the Granbury Lodge No. 392 in Granbury, Bluff Dale Lodge No. 724 A.F. & A.M. in Bluff Dale, Texas and Dallas Texas Scottish Rite, Moslah Shrine, Ft. Worth, Texas, O.E.S. in Granbury, Texas.

Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pat Douglas; a son, Bryan and his wife Zimar Douglas; a daughter, Rachel and her husband Tarek El-Yafi; and grandchildren Mia and Adam El-Yafi and Daniel Bonvouloir.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Grandview Baptist Church with Reverend Barry Willett officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Lechner, Scott Willett, Larry Rathbone, Jim Rogers, Bryan Douglas, and Tarek El-Yafi. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church and at other times, the family will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Renovation Fund at Grandview Baptist Church, 1562 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
