Kermit Mann

Canton – Kermit Earl Mann, 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

Kermit was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Madison Roosevelt and Flora Sanford Mann.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Glenna Bernice Wilson Mann, who died in 1998; and ten of his siblings.  Kermit had been logging since he was 13 years old and was self-employed in the trade.  He loved being outdoors where he especially enjoyed farming and raising horses.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Henry (John) of Sylva and Becky Marcus (Tony) of Canton; two sons, Brad Mann and Dewayne Mann (Lisa), all of Canton; a sister, Hilda Mann Long (Armon) of Canton; brother, Porter Mann of Canton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
