Katie Cunningham

Clyde, Katie "Jean" Robinson Cunningham, age 81, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late George and Hester Nellie Pressley Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Cunningham, who died in 2010; two sisters, Doris Mull and Linda Hord; three brothers, Samuel, Tommy and Buck Robinson; and a grandson, Jamie Roland. She was a former Lead Teacher at Southwestern Child Development and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Katie loved her flower gardening, scrap-booking, genealogy, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Katie is survived by three daughters, Kathy Swanger (K.W.), Pansy Haney and Darlene Lee (Johnny); three sons, Jimmy Cunningham (Lelia), Jackie Cunningham and Jerry Cunningham (Pam); a sister, Frances Robinson; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to services. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery.
