Kathryn Smith

Waynesville-Kathryn Pace Smith, age 67, of 127 Dock Ratcliff Road, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late James "Mack" and Florence Fullbright Pace. A brother, Carroll Pace, who died in 1995 also preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith was a devoted wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was a member of Elizabeth Chapel UMC, where she loved serving with the church and enjoyed numerous Craft activities. She was survived by her husband of 44 years, Donald Smith; two sons, Allen D. Smith, and his wife, Jahala, and David M. Smith and his wife, Cindy, of Waynesville; one sister, Vivian Gardner, and her husband, Jerry, of Hickory, NC; three brothers, David Pace, and his wife, Ann, of Waynesville, Leon Pace and his wife, Sherry, of Charlotte, NC and Kenneth Pace and his wife, Ann, of Waynesville; one aunt, Sally Plemmons, and her husband, George, of Clyde; sister-in-law, Gloria Pace, of Clyde; sister-in-law, Charlotte Parker, and her husband, Wiley of Waynesville, and two grandchildren, Harrison Smith and Kathyrn McKinley Smith, who was named after her grandmother; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends, including a special friend, Carolyn Perry, of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Elizabeth Chapel UMC with the Reverend Mike Shuford officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville.
