Julius Jones

March 15, 1926 — March 20, 2005

Waynesville-Julius Joseph Jones, age 79, of 171 Cavalier Drive, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Talmadge and Oberia Buchanan Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Silvers Jones, who died in 1984; a son, Danny Jones; a brother, Harley Jones; and a sister, Mildred Jones. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He retired after 25 years from Parkway Heating and Air Conditioning. He enjoyed watching television and was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Angie Fowler, and her husband, Dean; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Jones; six sons, Tommy Jones and his wife, Jeannie, Willie Jones and his wife, Jeanette, Timmy Jones, Jerry Jones and his wife, Joyce, Joe Jones, and Talmadge Jones; four sisters, Lucille and Nettie Norman, Hettie Frady, and Jessie Davis; one brother, Cecil Jones; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren, all of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Wyatt and Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Dwayne, Eddie and Timmy Jones, Cameron Bolden, Mike Chambers, and Dean Fowler. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
