Waynesville, Judy Carroll Noland, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

A native of Haywood County she was a daughter of the late Mark and Valerie Rathbone.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Van, Jack, Howard, Homer and Charles Noland; two sisters, Benny Mae Noland Lance and Helen Clement; sister-in-law, Marianne Noland and nephew, Randy Noland.

Judy worked at Service America at Champion Intl., Waynesville Country Club, Pasquale’s, and most recently at Kid Zone Child Development Center, where she was known by so many children and families as Miss Judy for almost 20 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Nathan, Hayden, and Natalie.  Judy loved going to their ball games, school activities, and going with them to have a “Mamaw Day.”  She was known as their beloved Mamaw Ju-Ju.  Judy leaves her family and many children in Haywood County with many happy memories filled with love and laughter.  Miss Judy also enjoyed crafts, spending time with her grand doggie, Lil Sophie, and having her “Sister Weekends” with her three sisters.  Judy leaves them to cherish many happy times and funny stories.

Judy will be missed dearly but her family has the peace and comfort knowing that she is not suffering anymore after a long battle with cancer.  She is now walking the streets of gold in Heaven.  Her family would like to thank the ICU nurses at Mission for the excellent care and compassion that they gave to Miss Judy in her final days.  Mason, Katelyn, Allison, Michelle, Kelly, Dr. Story and Nick with hospice.  The family cannot thank each of you enough for everything you did to comfort her and all the family.  The family would also like to thank Judy’s wonderful neighbors who loved and cared for her over the years.

Judy is survived by daughters, Jennifer Rogers and her husband, Kelly, and Angela Noland, both of Waynesville; grandchildren, Nathan and Natalie Rogers, of Waynesville and Hayden Trantham, of Candler; brothers, Walter Noland (Deanne), of Danielsville, Georgia, Jeff Noland (Kim), of Clyde, John Noland (Sammi), of Cambridge City, Indiana, Ben Justice, of Greenville, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Ronnie Lance, of Waynesville; sisters, Linda Rathbone (Larry), of Clyde, Laurie Cagle (Ace), of Waynesville, Mary Allen, of Waynesville; and many beloved nieces and nephews who miss Aunt Ju Ju.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with the Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fines Creek Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.  Serving as Judy’s pallbearers are Allen and Gabe Rathbone, Todd and Heath Noland, Jason Griffith, Rich Fredrick, Caleb Henry, and Dylan Mehaffey.  Honorary pallbearers are Brian, Mark, Luke, Josh, Spencer and Riley Noland, Danny and Shane Rathbone, Dino and Nolan Leopard, and Cody Henry.
