Judy Ann Delaney, born on August 20, 1944, in the town of Sylacauga, Alabama, a resident of Candler, North Carolina for almost 30 years, passed away in Greenville, South Carolina, on May 11, 2025. She had a kind, loving spirit that she expressed to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Judy dedicated her early working days serving as a security guard for Bethlehem Steel. Later, she became an account manager for Ace Coffee Bar. Yet, it was not just her career that defined her; it was her capacity for love that resonated throughout her life.
Affectionately known as "Grandma," Judy's nurturing essence enveloped all who crossed her path, with a heart that seemed to grow a bit larger each day. Judy was a woman of deep compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement; it was said that she never held a grudge. Judy's personality shone brightly through her many acts of kindness and sense of humor. She found delight in the simple pleasures of life, such as solving crossword puzzles, playing cards, watching game shows and "General Hospital." Her love for all things Elvis served as a soundtrack to her vibrant existence. The unfailing love she had for her family echoed throughout her days with enthusiasm. Judy's legacy continues through her loving family.
She is survived by her three beloved daughters: Deborah Beverly of Candler, NC, Suzanne Hisle of Peculiar, MO, and Dana Titzler (husband Steve) of Surprise, AZ. Her surviving grandchildren are Casi Ginley (husband Ian), Mandie Wagler, Jennifer Leonard, Baylena Clark, Edward Hisle, Rosalie Hisle, and Bryan Titzler (Wife Tompor). She also had surviving great-grandchildren: Dante Vanerelli (his father Jackie Vanerelli), Liam Ginley, Lexi & Gage Wagler, Meta & Kaya Leonard, Ryan & Rhome Golden, and Gary & Mary Gable are all left enriched by Judy’s boundless spirit. Her cherished siblings, Nelda, Stevie, Alice, Jerry, Ginger, Tommy, and Sara will forever treasure the memories they hold of her extraordinary life.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William Johnson and Dorothy Johnson McCurrey; grandson, David Titzler; as well as her siblings Ray, Eugene, Mary, Carl, Johnny, Jeff, Billy, Nina, and Roger Dale, but her essence lingers on as a vibrant tapestry woven into the lives of those she has touched. In honoring the life of Judy Ann Delaney, we celebrate a soul who generously opened her heart to all. She taught us the power of love, the beauty of forgiveness, and the importance of family.
