Judith "Judy" Ann Runion

Judith Ann Runion, 84, went home to see Jesus on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. 

Judy was a native of Haywood County and had lived in Buncombe County most of her life.  She was the daughter of the late Henry Vance and Eva Ray Pressley.  She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Pressley, Kenneth Pressley and Henry “Boby” Vance; and a sister, Marie Warren. 

Judy was an excellent cook and making pound cakes was her specialty.  She found her calling as a private nurse, making precious connections with the patients she cared for.  Judy had an impressive Beanie Baby collection; she also collected Franklin Mint owl figurines.  She enjoyed spending time with her family. 

She is survived by a son, Terry Runion (Mindy) of Candler; two sisters, Susan “Suzy” Gregory and Edith Messer both of Candler; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 in the Wells Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Mike Hicks officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the chapel.
