Juanita Rhew

Juanita R. Rhew, 87, of Asheville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center.  She was daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Flannigan Raines.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack “Frank” Franklin Rhew in 2016 and son, Jerry Rhew in 2013. As the youngest of 10 children, her five brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Mamaw Rhew dearly loved the Lord and she was a mighty prayer warrior.  She loved being mama and mamaw, her whole world revolved around her family and her prized possessions were her children and grandchildren.  She so enjoyed when someone would take her to yard sales.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jan Rhew Cleveland of Asheville, Judy Rhew Lanning and her husband, Jim of Asheville, Jock Rhew and his wife, Cindy of Leicester and Kathy Rhew Sproles and her husband, Jim of Spartanburg, SC; daughter-in-law, Donna Ledford Rhew; thirteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 754 Aiken Road, Asheville, NC.  Reverend Keith Watkins will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The care of   Mrs. Rhew has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
