Joyce Hudgins

Hickory, Joyce Darlene Davis Hudgins, age 79, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

Joyce was born in Haywood County on August 26, 1942, to the late Joseph and Vennice Giles Davis.  She retired after working 25 years from Amp, Inc. and previously worked for King Hickory Furniture for 11 years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenny Marler; brother, Tommy Davis; and a brother-in-law, Carlyle Ferguson.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Bobbie Hudgins; stepdaughter, Jennifer Alexandria, and her husband, Gary; brother, William Davis, and his wife, Diane; sister, Marie Ferguson; granddaughter, Amie Flowers, and her husband, Hunter; great-granddaughter, Belle Mae Flowers; sister-in-law; Emily Davis; and a special friend, Pat Howell.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2021, in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Devere Williams and Pastor Alan Davis officiating.
