Joyce Haney

Canton – On June 20, 2015 at 4:05 p.m. all Heaven rejoiced as Joyce Rebecca Riddle Haney, age 75, was welcomed by her Savior and loved ones into her eternal home. Born on February 4, 1940 to parents, Ralph and Inez Cabe Riddle, she was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and a model example of what it is to love and care for one's family and to suffer difficulty and loss well. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll Dale Haney; her daughter, Kelly Haney Pace; and her brother, T. L. Riddle. Joyce graduated from Bethel High School in 1958. She worked for 25 years for Haywood County Schools retiring as school secretary from Bethel Elementary in 2000. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and delighted in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and their families. Joyce is survived by her son, Kevin and wife, Judy, of Swannanoa; grandchildren, Shaley Haney Holmes and husband, Cameron, of Weaverville, Savannah Haney of Asheville, and Samuel and Jonah Pace of Canton; loved as a grandson, Tyler Pace of Canton; great-grandchild, Ty Elijah Holmes; a sister, June Riddle Lowe and husband, Ken, of Canton; sister-in-law, Libby Riddle of Canton; parents of her grandsons, Mark and Stephanie Pace of Canton; "little buddies" Krew and Ketch Plemmons and Zane Brooks of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews who counted her as their "second mom." Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Pallbearers will be Samuel, Jonah, and Tyler Pace, Cameron Holmes, Tim Lowe, and Mease Wells.
