Joyce Dubose

Hendersonville, Joyce Evelyn Pope-DuBose was born in Tampa, Florida on May 26, 1931, and passed away on December 6, 2020, in Fletcher, North Carolina.

She was a member of the Hendersonville, North Carolina Seventh-day Adventist Church, along with her husband. Joyce and her husband, Robert (Bob) spent all the years of his ministry together pastoring and constructing church buildings, and as evangelists, traveling the State of Florida, before retiring to the mountains of North Carolina. Before moving to Hendersonville, they were members of the Waynesville Seventh-day Adventist Church for over 20 years.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years and 7 months, Pastor Robert E. DuBose, Sr., of Hendersonville, North Carolina; four sons, Robert DuBose, Jr., and wife, Denise,  of Palm Springs, California; Pastor Rich DuBose, and wife, Linda, of Cameron Park, California; Stephen DuBose, and wife, Cindy, of Hot Springs, North Carolina; Dr. Daniel DuBose, and wife, Karen,  of Sonora, California; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Due to Covid-19, all protocols and mandates are requested to be followed, including mask.  The service will be live streamed and will be accessible through Joyce’s obituary on Wells Funeral Home website to facilitate the ongoing focus on community safety and health.

The care of Mrs. DuBose has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
