Clyde, Joseph "Joe" H. Royer, 85, of Susie Noland Road, entered the presence of his Lord on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his residence. Born in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Harry and Lillian Dell Seniff Royer. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Roberson, Alice Plemmons and Betty Dutcher; twin brothers, Otis and Junior Royer; and a son-in-law, Roger Moore. Joe was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired self-employed dairy farmer, carpenter and tool maker. Joe enjoyed fishing, woodworking and time with his family. Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose E. Royer; four daughters, Deborah Moore, Denise Royer, Diane Royer and Dawn Dowdle (Mike); two sons, Daniel Royer (Talina) and Darrin Royer (Cynthia); 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Golden and Pastor Ken Roberts officiating. Military honors to follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
