Clyde - Joseph "Joey" Wendell Queen, age 24, of 62 Red Fox Loop died Saturday, December 14, 2002.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Hilda Ruth Hill and his maternal grandfather, Everett Lee Messer.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Thomas H. and Vickie W. Queen of Bethel; his mother, Susie Messer of Clyde; paternal grandparents, Carroll Wayne Queen, Sr. and Willie Mae Queen of Canton; maternal grandparents, Gean and James Hugh Burgess of Rabbit Skin; a brother, Thomas Everette Queen of Clyde; a daughter, Taylor Nicole Queen of Canton and his fiancée, Misty Burrell of Clyde as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18th at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Longs Community Cemetery on Coffee Branch Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. At other times, the family will be at his father's residence, 127 Rebel Ridge Road, Bethel.
