John Carroll Parker II, 47, of Candler, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 25, 2019. A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late John Carroll Parker and Helen Elaine Bradley Parker. John was a loving husband, son, brother, dad, brother-in-law, uncle, Pops, and friend. He proudly served his country, he faithfully served his God, and lovingly cared for his family. After 3 years in the US Army John continued to serve in the US Postal Service for 25 years where he received many Outstanding Performance Awards. As an Associate and Youth Pastor at White Rock Baptist Church and Fairview Baptist Church, John was able to follow his passion of sharing the God's Word with everyone he met. He loved sports, coaching basketball, ministering to the less fortunate, and enjoyed hiking with his family. His family was everything to him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Makayla Lynn Parker and John Colton Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Hope Marie Parker; son, Elijah Parker; daughter, Audrey (Sean) Bowman; grandson, Kamden Parker; siblings; Carla (Kenny) Hollifield, Cathy Parker, Christy (Kevin) Ball, and Brad (Carmella) Parker; many nieces and nephews; and a very special young man who was like a son, Saw Taw.
