John Morgan

Clyde – John Walter “Pee Dab” Morgan, 85, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Care Partners Hospice Solace Center (JF Keever).

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Lawrence Walter and Beulah Wright Morgan.  John was employed with Champion International and Evergreen Packaging for 55 years and was a lover of sports, NASCAR and Carolina Tar Heels.  He was a United States Marine veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Belma Wyatt Morgan; ten children; John Eugene Morgan (Sue) of Leicester, Robert Allen Morgan of Canton, Belma Teresa Morgan of Candler, David Kevin Morgan of Clyde, Mary Morgan Sloan of Waynesville, Myra Renee Curtis of Black Mountain, Roger Dale Morgan of Clyde, Jeffrey Chris Morgan of Asheville, Walter Kenneth Morgan of Candler, and Kathy Gray; one sister, Mary Rose Pressley of Florida and her son, Bruce Poteat of Clyde; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with GiGi Graham officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Thank you for being a great father.  You are loved and missed.  We will see you again.
