Candler, NC-John Monroe "Jack" King, III, age 52, of 14 Chestnut Creek Road, died on Saturday, February 5, 2005. A native of Wilkes County, he was a life-long resident of Haywood County and was the son of John Monroe "Jack" King, II and his wife, Elizabeth Register King. He was a 1971 graduate of Tuscola High School and received his BS Degree in Horticulture from the University of Georgia. He was co-owner of Mountain View Nursery in Clyde and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. He was a wonderful storyteller and was loved by everyone. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Genny and Anna King, and their mother, Sharon King, all of Clyde; a sister, Cathy King, of Waynesville; three brothers, Jim King and his wife, Anna, of Clyde, Steve King and his fiancé Terry Burns, and Lee King and his wife, Holly, of Raleigh; four nephews, Josh, Elijah, Logan, and Davis King; and a special friend and companion, Cathy Bishop, of Candler. Private graveside services will be held at the King Family Cemetery with Reverend Paul Starnes officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2005 at Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services of Waynesville.
