John Hyatt, Jr.

Waynesville, John H. Hyatt, Jr., age 86, of Boyd Farm Road, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Brian Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John and Cecil Robinson Hyatt and was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Smith. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. John worked as a carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Betty Boyd Hyatt; one daughter, Wilma Rose Duke, of St. Charles, Kentucky; a stepdaughter, Kate R. Morrow, of Willis, Texas; one son, Joseph Wayne Hyatt, of Asheville; a stepson, Boyd Ketner, of Waynesville; a sister, Virginia Ledford, also of Waynesville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Memorials may be made to the Haywood County Rescue Squad, P.O.
