Joe Kirkpatrick

Waynesville-Joe T. Kirkpatrick, age 81 died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a son of the late Albert and Berdie Rogers Kirkpatrick and was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Setzer, five brothers; Hardy, Wayne, Lewis, Jack and Dee. He was a self-employed carpenter and was a member of Central Haywood Church of Christ. Mr. Kirkpatrick was known for his big heart and helping others. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II serving in the Germany ETO. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gladys McClure Kirkpatrick, 3 brothers; Fred Kirkpatrick and his wife Ann of Columbia, SC, Frank Kirkpatrick of Baltimore, MD and James "Red" Kirkpatrick of Columbia, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Clint Rowand officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Pressnell, Ritchie Kirkpatrick Drew Kirkpatrick, Gregg Setzer, Thomas McClure, Jim Francis and Jerry McClure. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Crawford, Charlie Millwood and Haywood Ledford.
