"1933-2014" Canton – Jimmy Briggs, age 80, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Golden Living Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Roy and Velda Smathers Briggs. He is survived by a niece, Brenda Mancini of Canton; and two nephews, Richard Rhinehart of Canton and Winfred Lee Briggs of Marion. Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to Morning Star Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1746, Canton, NC 28716.
