Jimmie ‘Sue’ Angel, 58, a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, sadly passed away at Haywood Regional Medical Center on August 7, 2026.

Sue was born in Haywood County on April 14, 1968, to her beloved parents, Jim and Joyce (Forga) Cochran. She was a devoted and loving woman who treasured her family above all else. Sue held her loved ones close to her heart and will always be remembered for the love, care, and warmth she shared with those around her.

Sue is preceded in death by her father, Jim Cochran. Sue leaves behind her two beloved daughters, Elizabeth Penland (Jacob) and Lian Angel; her mother, Joyce Cochran; her sister, Connie Bradshaw (Doug); her granddaughter, Emersyn Penland; and her nephews Travis Lanning (Lauren) and Tyler Lanning (Brittany). Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and the bond she shared with her family will remain a lasting part of their lives.

Sue will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through the people whose lives she touched.

There will be a Gathering of Friends and Family on Friday, August 14th, 2026, at Allen’s Creek Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The care of Ms. Angel has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
