Clyde – Jetty Greenlee Silver, 80, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Mission Hospital – Memorial Campus.
Jetty was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Tom and Ruby Elmore Greenlee. In addition to her parents, Jetty was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Silver, and one sister, Virginia Scruggs. Jetty faithfully served as a police officer with the Canton Police Department retiring after 25 years of service. In her earlier years, Jetty was an active member of the Eastern Star Pigeon River Lodge #386 A.F. & A.M. When she and HiHo had the opportunity, they enjoyed vacationing with the family at the Sherwood Forest Campground at Myrtle Beach. Jetty was a prolific cook making some of the best pizza in all of Clyde. She also was gifted at crocheting and gave away countless baby blankets to friends and family. Her greatest joy in life was her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as MaMaw.
Jetty is survived by her soulmate, best friend, and husband of 62 years, J. Donald “HiHo” Silver, Sr. of Clyde; son, J. Donald “Little HiHo” Silver, Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Clyde; sister, Peggy Pruitt, of Henrietta, NC; the triplet grandchildren, Trey Silver (Brooke), Mackenzie Silver, and Mariah Silver; five beautiful great-grandchildren; and several nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date and announced by Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
