Jerry Liner, Jr.

Dahlonega, Georgia, Jerry Liner, Jr., age 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Gold City Convalescent Center in Dahlonega. A native of Haywood County, born on October 20, 1929, he was the son of the late Jerry and Georgia Rathbone Liner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Erma Liner; a sister, Mary Anne Liner; and a brother Howard Liner. Jerry resided in Dahlonega for the past 10 years, he proudly served in the Armed Forces in Korea. Jerry obtained a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Western Carolina University and then a two year degree in civil engineering at Southern Institute of Technology in Georgia. He was a Civil Engineer for the majority of his life. Jerry is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Liner, of Dalton, Georgia and Janet Tripp-Smith, and her husband, Fletcher Wade Smith, of Dahlonega, Georgia; a sister, Dorothy Lane Welch, of Babson Park, Florida; three granddaughters, Jessica Music Patterson, of Orlando, Florida, Aimee Ruth Patterson, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia; and Allyson Alexis Smith, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and three nephews, Tommy, Kenny and Jay Liner. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Green Hill Cemetery.
