Jerry Ray Haney, 78, of Killen, AL, formerly of Clyde, NC, passed away peacefully as he entered his heavenly rest on August 16, 2025. Born in Waynesville, NC, on April 12, 1947, Jerry was the son of the late Ray & Janelle Haney.
Jerry graduated in 1965 from Clyde High School, where he met Linda Ray and immediately fell in love; they were a match made in heaven. They went on to be married for 57 years and had 2 children together. Jerry was a dedicated father and grandfather. His greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren, cheering them on, supporting them in their events, and celebrating their achievements.
After graduating from Clyde High School, he began his career at American Enka in Candler, NC, then onto Champion Papers in Canton, NC, and retiring from International Papers in Courtland, AL. After retiring, Jerry dedicated himself to serving his community through volunteer service, volunteering at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Killen, AL.
In his free time, Jerry loved to travel on his motorcycle. He and his wife Linda, logged 130,000 miles traveling to all 50 states on their Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Renee Haney; son Paul Haney (Mistie); granddaughter Madison Haney; grandson, Kris Haney (Mahaila); granddaughter, Bethanie Haney; granddaughter Lauren Sutton (Dylan); great-grandsons Morallis Haney and Shepherd Sutton; and a sister Jean Queen (Keith); many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Janelle Haney, and his loving wife, Linda Ray Haney.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 22, 2025, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Rogers. Entombment will follow at The Horizon at Crawford Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
The care of Mr. Haney has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton, NC.
